Proposal for practical

Write a proposal for your practical work using the following questions:

  1. What is your research question? What are the roles of layout and style in leading fashion magazines, and why are they significant?
  2. Do you have hypothesis (an assumed conclusion that you will endeavour to prove)?
  3. What are the contexts of your research interests?
  4. Sources of primary/secondary research: Internet, books, surveys
  5. How will your practical work relate to your written work (synthesis)? The practical
  6. What methods will you use to research, develop, create and test your work? Comparing my techniques to the existing of that. Proving what does and doesn't work within editorial design
  7. Provide a proposed timeline for your work to completion (consider carefully whether you will need access to college facilities)
Technique, content, communication; extract the practical issues/aspects surrounding your chosen field of interest.

I will be producing a body of explorative practical work relating to editorial design, taking influence from the styling of vogue magazine. I want to show the findings that I have learned from research from my essay, and apply these to my own publication.

  • cover designs (shows layouts)
  • a book is a collection of written, printed, illustrated, or blank sheers, made of paper or parchment
  • layout is the key element
