OUGD403 (Studio Brief 3) Final Typeface

After taking into consideration feedback from the crit, my final hand rendered typeface communicates my ideas and concept well. The typeface communicates Wills characteristics well, as it presents a simplistic, clean cut, straight forward stylised typeface. I find that the clear subtle manipulations work well and portray his personality well. The typeface clearly shows influence of modernist graphic design, however the angular serifs give it an alternative approach.

This shows the final outcome, I think that the manipulations work well for the whole alphabet overall, however i would say the letterform 'Z' was the least successful. I noticed that throughout the process of manipulating a typeface certain errors will occur with certain letterforms, but work for the majority. If i was to take this brief further, I would create these letter forms on illustrator instead of hand rendering them so that they would have a cleaner finish. The digital print resource would be a great way of producing this typeface.

Here is a small name badge that I have produced which was one of the requirements for the brief. It shows a small sample of how my typeface would look when put in to context.
